Azimut Exploration said on October 26, 2026, that surface exploration had identified a gold-bearing vein field measuring 3 kilometres by 5 kilometres at its wholly owned Wabamisk property in Québec. The largely undrilled Rosa-Dome area and a newly discovered showing called Ginger are helping define targets for a planned minimum 7,000-metre Wabamisk gold drilling program later in 2026.

Key Takeaways

  • Azimut has identified eight significant gold showings at Wabamisk since June 2026.
  • Initial Ginger results include 1.40 grams of gold per tonne over a 2.0-metre channel sample.
  • Drilling remains planned, while surface sampling, stripping and geophysical surveys continue.

Wabamisk gold targets expand across Rosa-Dome

Azimut said the Rosa-Dome sector contains an extensive quartz-vein system associated with sulphide mineralization, tourmaline and iron-carbonate alteration, and several broadly parallel structures. The company interprets these shared features as evidence of a larger gold-bearing system.

At least nine new mineralized outcrops were found in the Dome sector over the preceding several weeks, with assay results still pending. Limited drilling leaves much of the newly outlined surface footprint untested at depth.

The update builds on Azimut’s September 9 exploration announcement, which described Rosa and Dome as likely parts of the same broad structural corridor. The October findings add surface evidence, but the dimensions of a vein field do not establish the quantity of gold it contains.

Ginger adds a target between Rosa and Fortin

The new Ginger showing lies within the 15-kilometre distance separating the Rosa and Fortin zones. Preliminary assays returned up to 3.71 grams of gold per tonne in grab samples and 1.40 grams per tonne over 2.0 metres in a channel sample.

Azimut reported an apparent mineralized thickness of about 10 metres. The mineralization contains disseminated to semi-massive arsenopyrite in metasedimentary rocks with quartz veining. The showing also aligns with a 5-kilometre induced-polarization anomaly and an arsenic-antimony anomaly in soil.

Mechanical stripping and other work are underway to expand Ginger, which remains open in all directions. The company cautioned that grab samples are selective and may not represent average grades or the underlying mineralization; the reported apparent thickness should not be read as an established true width.

Surface work prepares the next drilling phase

The planned drilling will seek to expand Rosa and test its western extensions, the Dome sector and new targets. Azimut had not announced the start of that drilling program in the October 26 update.

Fieldwork includes a 144-line-kilometre induced-polarization survey, a 102-sample till survey and mechanical stripping at Rosa, Dome and Ginger. Thousands of soil assays and hundreds of rock assays remained outstanding, leaving further results to inform target selection.

Wabamisk now comprises 784 claims covering 415.2 square kilometres, including 73 claims recently added by map designation. The property is in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec.

Conclusion

The next steps for Wabamisk gold exploration are the outstanding assays and the planned start of drilling later in 2026. Those tests will help assess whether the expanded surface targets continue below ground.
