The first CIC dividend has delivered 169.64 million Philippine pesos to the national government, marking Credit Information Corp.’s first dividend contribution since its establishment in 2008. The remittance, detailed on October 26, 2026, comes after the corporation recorded its highest annual revenue in 2025.

CIC dividend falls under government profit-sharing law

The payment was made under Republic Act No. 7656, known as the Dividend Law. Its dividend remittance requirements generally oblige covered government-owned or controlled corporations to remit at least 50% of annual net earnings to the national government, subject to statutory exemptions and a presidential adjustment provision.

The law provides for these dividends to be received by the National Treasury and recorded as General Fund income. Government-corporation dividends are a source of non-tax revenue supporting infrastructure and socioeconomic programs; the announcement did not identify a specific project funded by CIC’s payment.

Record revenue accompanies credit-report activity

CIC generated 459.37 million pesos in revenue in 2025, its highest annual total. It also produced more than 28 million credit reports and recorded 38 million credit-report inquiries during the year.

Those revenue figures are distinct from net earnings, the measure used by the Dividend Law. The disclosed figures do not establish CIC’s net earnings or the precise payout ratio applied to this remittance.

CIC President and Chief Executive Ben Joshua Baltazar said reliable credit information helps lenders make data-driven credit decisions and manage risk. Finance Undersecretary Ma. Angela Ignacio said CIC’s mandate includes strengthening the credit information system to support more informed lending and broader access to credit.
