Samsung Electronics announced on October 28, 2026, that its Galaxy Buds On open-ear earbuds will go on sale in the US in early November for $229. The company plans to make them available in Europe from early 2027.

Galaxy Buds On design and features

The cuff-style earbuds clip around the ear, allowing users to hear their surroundings. In Samsung’s product announcement, the company said it used more than 119 million ear data points, along with AI-assisted optimization and simulations, to refine the design.

Samsung says the earbuds provide up to 9.5 hours of music playback on one charge and up to 38 hours in total with the charging case. Actual battery life varies with usage and settings.

Features include voice access to Google’s Gemini Live and head gestures for handling calls. Automatic volume adjustment is an experimental feature that must be enabled and requires a compatible software version.

Samsung shares and earnings

The product announcement came ahead of Samsung’s full third-quarter earnings report, scheduled for October 29. Its shares rose 9% in Seoul trading on October 28, while its UK-listed shares gained nearly 10% over five sessions.
