Airbus earnings showed third-quarter revenue below expectations, but the aircraft maker maintained its target of delivering around 870 commercial planes in 2026. With 547 delivered through September, the target implies approximately 323 deliveries in the final quarter.

Key Takeaways

  • Third-quarter revenue fell 2% from a year earlier to €17.469 billion.
  • Nine-month free cash flow before customer financing was negative €1.268 billion.
  • Airbus kept its full-year adjusted EBIT and free cash flow targets unchanged.

Airbus earnings and quarterly revenue

Airbus reported third-quarter revenue of €17.469 billion, below the €17.91 billion consensus forecast. Revenue was down from €17.826 billion in the same quarter of 2025.

The company said the decline mainly reflected fewer commercial aircraft deliveries, partly offset by higher services revenue. Adjusted EBIT fell 9% to €1.768 billion, while reported net income rose to €1.344 billion from €1.116 billion.

Nine-month cash flow and deliveries

In its nine-month results, Airbus reported revenue of €50.6 billion, up 7% from a year earlier. Commercial aircraft deliveries increased to 547 from 507.

Free cash flow before customer financing was negative €1.268 billion, compared with negative €914 million in the first nine months of 2025. Airbus attributed the outflow mainly to changes in working capital, including inventory built up for deliveries concentrated toward the end of the year and planned production increases.

Full-year targets remain unchanged

Alongside the aircraft delivery target, Airbus continues to forecast adjusted EBIT of around €7.5 billion and free cash flow before customer financing of around €4.5 billion for 2026. Those figures are guidance, not results.

The outlook assumes no additional disruptions to global trade, the world economy, air traffic, the supply chain, Airbus operations or its ability to deliver products and services. It includes currently applicable tariffs and excludes mergers and acquisitions.
