Eternal earnings show growth across consumer businesses

The September-quarter results put consolidated business-to-consumer net order value, or NOV, at ₹35,644 crore, up 54% from a year earlier. Blinkit accounted for the largest portion, followed by Zomato’s food-delivery business and District, which houses the going-out business.

NOV measures order activity and is separate from consolidated revenue from operations. The figures therefore describe different aspects of Eternal’s performance rather than interchangeable measures of sales.

Zomato returns to management’s long-term growth range

Zomato recorded its fifth consecutive quarter of accelerating growth. Eternal founder Deepinder Goyal said the last two quarters had brought food delivery back into the company’s long-term expectation of more than 20% annual growth, while cautioning against reading too much into a single quarter.

Food-delivery NOV more than doubled from ₹18,160 crore in FY22 to ₹37,993 crore in FY26, representing roughly 20% compound annual growth. Goyal attributed part of the previous year’s slowdown to ordering occasions shifting toward quick commerce and said that shift appeared to have settled. More recent growth, he said, reflected more customers ordering more often.

Blinkit plans about 5,000 stores by March 2028

Eternal’s customer accessibility and assortment approach emphasizes access to food, products and experiences across locations and price points. Its customer-centricity page lists more than 2,700 Blinkit stores in September 2026, providing a baseline for the planned expansion.

Chief Financial Officer Akshant Goyal said Eternal now expects Blinkit to exceed 3,500 stores by March 2027, with current plans pointing to about 5,000 by March 2028. These are management targets, not completed openings.

Group Chief Executive Albinder Singh Dhindsa said Blinkit is prioritizing customers who order frequently, buy across categories and are profitable to serve. He also expressed confidence in smaller cities, where the company is building both demand and supply.

The CFO said cash balances and profits from food delivery and quick commerce would support expansion. He expects adjusted EBITDA margins to continue improving during the rollout.

Adonmo stake swap would give Eternal a Mygate holding

Separately, Eternal’s board approved selling its entire stake in digital advertising platform Adonmo to Vivish Technologies, the operator of residential community management platform Mygate, in exchange for Mygate shares.

Eternal said it would eventually hold about 4.4% of the merged Mygate entity on a fully diluted basis, with the stake currently valued at ₹156 crore. The disclosure describes an approved transaction and expected ownership, rather than confirming completion.

Conclusion

Eternal’s next stated operating milestone is Blinkit’s target of more than 3,500 stores by March 2027. Progress toward that target will test management’s expectation that expansion can continue alongside improving adjusted EBITDA margins.
