How to read this matrix
A positive cell means one unit of the row currency corresponds to more units of the column currency at the last publication than at the first. A negative cell means fewer units. This is an exchange-rate comparison, not an investment return.
FinanceVelix divides the target currency units per euro by the base currency units per euro. The change is (last cross-rate / first cross-rate − 1) × 100. The reverse change is calculated independently; it is not simply the negative of the original percentage.
Every cell in the selected matrix uses the same first and last dates. Only publications containing all eight selected currencies are used. Missing dates, weekends and holidays are not filled. The two most recent common publications may be more than one calendar day apart.
The source is the ECB rolling 90-day daily reference file, checked at most hourly when requested. It is free at the source and is for information, not an executable trading quote. The ECB discourages using these rates for transactions. EUR is the defined base of 1.
The link contains only public currency codes, group and period. The CSV contains public dates, cross-rates, calculated changes and ECB attribution. Amounts, fees and account records are excluded.
