Annual comparison
NYSE has 251 trading days and London 253. Both exchanges open on 246 dates: 231 have two hours of overlap, 14 have three hours, and one has no overlap. On 12 weekdays only one exchange trades.
The US and UK change clocks on different dates. This extends the overlap to three hours on March 15–19 and 22–25, and November 1–5. Both exchanges close on Good Friday, March 26.
On December 31 London starts its closing process at 12:30 GMT and New York opens at 14:30 GMT. Both trade, but their scheduled sessions do not overlap.

We intersect the scheduled main cash-equity sessions in UTC for the same exchange-local calendar date, using IANA time zones. London closes at the start of its closing process. Extended hours, post-close auctions, derivatives, settlement and unforeseen closures are excluded. This is a schedule, not a forecast of liquidity or returns. Later exchange notices may change it.
NYSE core cash equities: 09:30–16:00 Eastern. Published early closes end at 13:00. Options and extended sessions have different hours.
London main equities: 08:00–16:30 local time. Published half days start the closing process at 12:30. Auctions and off-book reporting are excluded.
