Truecaller Lite launched in India on October 27, 2026, offering a smaller version of the company’s caller identification and spam-blocking app for Android phones with limited storage and up to 4 GB of RAM.
Truecaller Lite rollout and features
The app is free on Google Play and takes up approximately 10 MB. Truecaller plans to make it available to eligible devices in phases over the coming weeks. It is not offered on iOS.
The Lite version includes caller identification, spam and fraud call blocking, a dialer with contacts and call history, and a screen displaying caller details after a call. To keep it compact, Truecaller left out messaging, voicemail, Family Protection and its AI assistant.
Launch comes ahead of festive shopping
The launch precedes India’s festive shopping season, when scam calls can include fake delivery alerts, fraudulent offers and KYC fraud.
Truecaller said the Lite app uses the same database and detection systems as its main app, which identified more than 68 billion spam and fraud calls in 2025. The Stockholm-based company, listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since 2021, has more than 500 million active users globally.
