Key Takeaways

  • B Capital and existing investors also participated in the round.
  • Hyphenate said its revenue grew 86 times and its customer base grew 11 times over the past 12 months.
  • The company plans to use the capital to expand its AI agents across finance and into strategic finance.

Hyphenate funding and investors

The Series A follows a $9 million seed round raised about a year earlier. Foundation Capital, BoldCap and Gaia Ventures were among the existing investors that participated in the new financing.

The announcement came less than a month after the New York-based company changed its name from Maximor to Hyphenate. It was founded in 2024 by former Microsoft finance transformation leaders Ramnandan Krishnamurthy and Ajay Krishna Amudan.

Growth and customer use

Hyphenate said it has passed multi-million-dollar annual recurring revenue and counts six public companies among its customers. It also said its agents handle 90% of routine finance work across its platform, while 40% of customers expand their use within their first year.

The company named Groupon, Synthesia, HiBid and Mini Melts USA as customers. It said HiBid reduced its month-end close from three weeks to one day, while Mini Melts USA recovered the equivalent of 16,640 hours of finance work annually within three months of going live.

How the platform operates

Hyphenate says its platform connects to customers’ existing enterprise resource planning, banking and other systems. Its agents work across tasks including invoicing, cash reconciliation, subledgers and reporting, with finance teams handling decisions that require judgment.

The company plans to use the new financing to take its agents deeper into finance functions and strategic finance.
