OSM pearl research and the award-winning ingredient

OSM says its research team identified active components from pearl polypeptides using biological extraction and targeted enzymatic hydrolysis. The company developed Zhenbaiyin from that work and incorporated it into skincare formulas.

Based in Deqing, Zhejiang, OSM says its operations span pearl breeding, ingredient extraction, formula research, manufacturing and sales. Shen began exploring artificial freshwater pearl cultivation and processing technologies in 1967.

In 2025, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations recognized the Deqing Freshwater Pearl Compound Aquaculture System as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System.
