The SeABank profit target for 2026 has been lowered by 15% to VND6,008 billion before tax as the Vietnamese lender seeks to support lower interest rates and economic growth. The bank also named Tran Thi Thanh Thuy as its new board chair.
Key Takeaways
- The revised figure is a profit-before-tax target, not a reported result.
- Deposit rates for terms of at least six months have been cut by 0.5–0.7 percentage points.
- Former chair Le Van Tan’s planned appointment as CEO requires central-bank approval.
SeABank profit target and rate cuts
SeABank said on October 27, 2026, that its board had approved the lower target in line with government and State Bank of Vietnam directives to ease business difficulties, lower interest rates and support growth.
The bank said the deposit-rate cuts would create room to reduce lending rates, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses, priority sectors and green projects. It also plans to prioritize lending to businesses with sound finances and viable plans, as well as customers in priority sectors.
SeABank said it would use existing customer networks and value chains to provide integrated financial services.
New chair and proposed CEO transition
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, an existing board member, became chair effective October 22 for the board’s 2023–2028 term. She joined SeABank in 2015 and previously served as deputy CEO.
The board approved Le Van Tan’s resignation as chair and is completing documentation to seek State Bank of Vietnam approval for his appointment as CEO. He is intended to succeed Le Quoc Long, whose three-year term ends in November 2026.
SeABank’s board has eight members, including two independent members and three foreign members.
Next milestone
The next confirmed step is the bank’s submission of documentation for regulatory approval of Le Van Tan’s proposed CEO appointment.
