Mochatrade funding of $5.5 million will help the trading platform strengthen its technology and expand its reach among Indian traders seeking exposure to US stock prices. CoinFund led the round, with participation from Coinbase Ventures and Zero Knowledge Ventures.
Key Takeaways
- Mochatrade offers perpetual futures linked to US stock prices, not ownership of the underlying shares.
- Planned products include contracts linked to select pre-IPO companies and US stock options, subject to applicable laws and regulatory approvals.
Mochatrade funding supports platform expansion
The company said it plans to use the capital to strengthen its trading engine and risk infrastructure and reach more active Indian traders. Its business model is based on trading fees.
Y Combinator and Pioneer Fund were among Mochatrade’s earlier backers. The funding was reported on October 27, 2026.
How the trading product works
Mochatrade allows users to take positions on US company prices, including those of Nvidia and Tesla, without opening a US brokerage account. Its perpetual futures have no fixed expiry and can be used to take positions on rising or falling prices.
Users can fund accounts through UPI and view margins, profits and losses in rupees. They do not own the underlying shares, and leverage can magnify losses as well as gains.
Registration and planned products
Through its Indian operating entity, Mochatrade is registered with Financial Intelligence Unit-India as a Virtual Digital Asset Service Provider and reporting entity for anti-money-laundering purposes. That registration does not constitute regulatory approval of every product the company offers or plans to launch.
The company also plans to introduce social trading features alongside its proposed pre-IPO-linked contracts and US stock options.
