The Viettel charging system has migrated more than 100 million subscribers and about 5,000 tariff plans to a home-grown cloud platform in a three-month switch, Viettel High Tech said on October 27, 2026. The company said the transition took place on the live national network without service disruption.

Key Takeaways

  • The migration used parallel operations and a phased cutover with rollback available at each stage.
  • Viettel High Tech is offering the platform to operators worldwide.

How the Viettel charging system was switched

Viettel High Tech, part of Viettel Group, developed vOCS 4.0 in-house. The system handles real-time charging, subscriber information and balances across mobile networks from 2G to 5G, as well as fixed services.

The company said it used real-time data synchronization, parallel running and a phased cutover to manage the transition. It also provided for an immediate rollback at every stage.

Capacity and international reach

Viettel High Tech said the platform can process more than 300,000 transactions per second with latency below five milliseconds. It also claims up to 50% less hardware investment than the previous generation and automatic recovery in under two minutes.

The predecessor, vOCS 3.0, replaced a foreign vendor’s platform for 90 million Viettel subscribers in 2017. Across both generations, vOCS serves more than 220 million subscribers in 11 countries, the company said.
