Early estimates from box-office tracker Sacnilk put the film’s domestic net collection at Rs 408.15 crore through its 12th day. India’s gross collection stood at Rs 477.85 crore.

The film earned Rs 2.50 crore overseas on day 12, bringing its international gross to Rs 255.50 crore. Combined with India’s gross, that took the worldwide total to Rs 733.35 crore.

The Tamil version led day-12 collections with Rs 5.65 crore from 4,518 shows. The Telugu version collected Rs 2 crore, while the Hindi version collected Rs 1.40 crore.

Sequel passes earlier Tamil film records

Jailer 2 overtook the Rs 691 crore worldwide collection of the 2018 film 2.0, which also starred Rajinikanth. It had previously passed the lifetime worldwide collections of Jailer, at Rs 604 crore, and Leo, at Rs 605 crore.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the sequel reunites the filmmaker with Rajinikanth after 2023’s Jailer. Its cast also includes SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty.
