The Markle device investigation in the Philippines is awaiting a warrant before police can examine devices recovered from Thomas Markle Sr. over allegations involving child sexual abuse images. Police said on October 26, 2026, that the inquiry could take a week, depending on when the warrant is issued.
Devices surrendered to police
The Philippine National Police said its Women and Children Protection Center received four boxes containing laptops, computer processing units, hard drives, similar devices and personal effects from Markle’s son, Thomas Markle Jr.
Police said Markle Jr. discovered the alleged material while looking for a cellphone at a friend’s house in Cordova, Cebu, where his father’s belongings had been left. He then contacted authorities and surrendered the devices.
What the Markle device investigation must establish
Police official Co said investigators needed to establish the nature and origin of any files and who owned the materials. If evidence of wrongdoing is found, investigators would also need to establish possession during the relevant period and identify any victims.
Police described the contents as an allegation made by Markle Jr. They did not say that the alleged material had been verified.
