Asin Thottumkal has largely stayed out of the spotlight since leaving show business in 2016. Her husband, Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma, recently shared how the former actress has helped keep their daughter away from screens.

In an interview with MyGov India, Sharma said the couple had not given their daughter, Arin Rayn, televisions or mobile phones and instead encouraged her to read. He credited Asin with shaping that approach.
Asin married Sharma in 2016, the year she left show business. She has rarely appeared on social media in the years since.
A career across Indian cinema
Asin made her film debut at 15 in the 2001 satire Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka. Her breakthrough came with the 2003 Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, for which she won a Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award.
She became a leading actress in Tamil cinema and made her Bollywood debut opposite Aamir Khan in the 2008 thriller Ghajini. Her last film was All Is Well, released in 2015.
