TEGNA Florida stations under Hartel’s leadership
The company announced the appointment on October 26, 2026. WTLV and WJXX are the NBC and ABC affiliates, respectively, in Jacksonville; WTSP is the CBS affiliate in Tampa.
Joan Barrett, group general manager for TEGNA’s Northeast and Southeast regions, said Hartel’s experience would help the stations connect with Florida communities, grow audiences and create opportunities for advertising partners.
Hartel’s background and TEGNA’s ownership
Hartel most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of FOX television stations KTVU and KICU in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has more than 30 years of television business experience and has held executive and sales leadership roles in San Francisco, Phoenix, Boston and Washington, D.C.
TEGNA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nexstar Media Group and operates independently under a hold-separate order issued by a federal court on April 17, 2026. The company operates 64 local television stations in 51 U.S. markets.
