A Guwahati hotel shooting left six people dead and others injured on October 26, 2026, with police searching for the culprit. The shooting took place at about 8:30 p.m. in the northeastern Indian city.

Guwahati Police Commissioner Partha Sarathi Mahanta said four bodies had been recovered and sent for postmortem examination. A police officer separately said two people taken to hospital with bullet injuries had died.
A police official said the injured people taken to hospital were in critical condition.
Search for the culprit
Police sent a team to the area and launched a search at railway stations. Mahanta said police expected to apprehend the culprit soon.
