India beauty sales are gaining momentum during the 2026 festival season, with brands reporting stronger demand and online platforms seeing shoppers buy more products per visit. Some companies expect the growth to continue through the season.

Key Takeaways

  • RENÉE Cosmetics reported 3x sales growth during Navratri and projected 2x year-on-year sales growth across the festival period.
  • Myntra said new beauty customers were up more than 25%, while the average beauty purchase contained three products.

India beauty sales expectations

RENÉE Cosmetics co-founder Ashutosh Valani said demand had increased for everyday makeup essentials, including lipsticks, kajal and other eye makeup. His projection for 2x year-on-year sales growth across the festival period is an expectation, not a completed result.

The Body Shop Asia South also expects double-digit revenue growth for the festival season, said chief brand officer Harmeet Singh. The brand serves customers buying for themselves, their families and as gifts.

Online shoppers buy more beauty products

Amazon India said one in four products bought on Amazon.in during the first 12 hours of its Great Indian Festival sale was a beauty product. Customers also purchased 25% more units per visit, said Siddharth Bhagat, a director at Amazon India. He said Korean beauty products and West Asian fragrances were growing strongly.

At Myntra, the average basket increased to three products per beauty purchase, from two during the previous edition of its BFF sale, said senior director Deepak Joshi. He said customers were increasingly shopping for complete festive looks.

Gifting and quick commerce

Singh said gifting accounts for 15% to 20% of The Body Shop’s sales during Deepavali, compared with 8% to 10% outside major festival periods. He also said quick commerce was growing 2–3x as customers sought convenient ways to shop.

Myntra said skincare and fragrances were up 50% during the festival period, while men’s grooming was up 100%. The company did not specify comparison periods for those figures.
