A Kanjurmarg signal failure disrupted Mumbai’s Central Railway suburban services on October 26, 2026, affecting train movements between Vikhroli and Bhandup. Signalling on all four suburban lines at Kanjurmarg was subsequently restored, a Central Railway official said.
Kanjurmarg signal failure affected four lines
The failure was reported at about 9:30 a.m. after the Station Control Office said all lines at Kanjurmarg had gone down and the signals had turned blank.
The problem affected signalling at Kanjurmarg and on the section between Vikhroli and Bhandup. Railway officials regulated train movements under special operating procedures to ensure safe operations.
Separate wire incident added to disruption
A separate incident compounded the disruption when a wire of unknown origin was found hanging from overhead equipment between Mulund and Thane.
The official’s update confirmed that the signalling system on all four suburban lines at Kanjurmarg had been restored. It did not specify when normal train operations resumed.
