DP World rail services are connecting Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) with inland container depots in India’s national capital region and Ahmedabad using double-stack trains, the logistics company said on October 26, 2026.
Where DP World rail services operate
One service, effective from September 2026, links JNPA with DP World’s inland container depot network at Pali/Rewari, Jhattipur–Panipat and Modinagar in the national capital region.
The second connects the port with the Sachana inland container depot in Ahmedabad, extending JNPA’s double-stack rail connectivity into Gujarat. DP World said both services are enabled by dedicated freight corridors.
How the connections support cargo movement
Double-stack operations allow more cargo to be moved by rail. DP World said the services use dedicated infrastructure, higher speeds and greater capacity, with the potential to improve turnaround times between the port and inland markets.
The company said the services offer customers rail alternatives intended to support faster transit and more predictable cargo movement. It did not provide a start date for the Ahmedabad service.
