Waaree data centres plans moved forward on October 27, 2026, when Waaree Energies’ board approved an acquisition intended to support its entry into digital infrastructure. The announcement came as the company reported a 15% year-on-year decline in quarterly net profit.

Waaree data centres acquisition

The board approved the acquisition of Waaree Green Data Centers and its two wholly owned subsidiaries, Aurovault Data Centers and Sunstar Data Centers, from Waaree Renewable Technologies, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies.

The proposed transaction carries a cash consideration of ₹1 lakh for 10,000 equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each. Waaree Energies expects it to be completed during the 2026–27 financial year.

The three companies have not yet commenced operations. Waaree Energies is exploring the development, ownership and operation of hyperscale, artificial intelligence and edge data centres as it looks beyond its core solar photovoltaic business.

The company described the deal as a related-party transaction in the ordinary course of business and on an arm’s-length basis.

September quarter results

For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, consolidated net profit attributable to owners fell to ₹719 crore from ₹842 crore a year earlier.

Revenue from operations rose 24% year on year to ₹7,518 crore, supported largely by a 22% increase in solar photovoltaic business revenue.
