Rahul Gandhi will address a Punjab Congress rally in Sangrur on November 4, 2026, launching the party’s campaign for the state’s 2027 assembly elections, Congress leaders said on October 26.

Punjab Congress rally preparations

Congress general secretaries K. C. Venugopal and Sachin Pilot announced Gandhi’s planned visit while speaking to reporters in Chandigarh.

Venugopal is expected to meet senior Punjab Congress leaders, district unit presidents and others to discuss election preparations and Gandhi’s visit.

Party leaders criticize state government

Venugopal criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government over law and order and alleged that Punjab was becoming an epicenter of the drug mafia. Pilot also criticized the government over drugs and law and order.

Pilot, the party’s Punjab in-charge, said Congress was united in its election preparations. Venugopal expressed confidence that the party would form the next state government.
