A driver said he bought a used car for Rs 3 lakh for his Bengaluru commute after his employer required staff to return to the office. His account of avoiding a confrontation over a scrape drew responses from other motorists online.
Why the driver bought a second car
In a social media post, the man said he did not want to use his new Skoda Slavia in city traffic every day. He said he bought a 2015 Maruti Suzuki Celerio from Cars24 in September 2026, describing it as a vehicle he could use without worrying about wear and tear.
He said the car’s paint was already faded, its air conditioning worked and he had dented it twice.
A scrape during the Bengaluru commute
The driver said an autorickshaw scraped the used car’s front bumper at the Silk Board signal. Rather than argue with the driver, he said he gave him a thumbs-up and continued his journey.
Other social media users shared their experiences of minor damage in traffic. One described driving an older Audi without worrying about scrapes, while another said their Skoda Slavia had been involved in two accidents over two years. The accounts have not been independently verified.
