The Senco Gold acquisition of a 68% stake in August Jewellery, owner of the Melorra brand, is targeted for completion by February 2027. Senco Gold said on October 25, 2026, that it had signed agreements to invest ₹68 crore in multiple tranches, subject to specified conditions.
Senco Gold acquisition terms
The investment will be made through fresh equity issuance. Including an acquisition by a promoter group entity, the overall stake in August Jewellery will reach 79%, after which the company will become a Senco Gold subsidiary.
The funds are intended for August Jewellery’s growth and expansion and the discharge of existing liabilities. Senco Gold said the acquisition does not require governmental or regulatory approvals.
Melorra’s role in the strategy
Senco Gold said the deal aligns with its digital and omnichannel strategy and its aim to serve younger consumers. It expects Melorra’s design and e-commerce capabilities to complement its existing strengths and generate operational synergies.
