Anand Mahindra has highlighted Gangavaram Beach near Visakhapatnam in his Sunday Wanderer series, praising its rocky cliffs and what he called its raw beauty.
Why Gangavaram Beach caught his eye
In a post on X, the industrialist asked why the beach was not among India’s most talked-about coastal landscapes. He contrasted its rugged cliffs, which he described as almost prehistoric, with the palm-lined scenery often associated with tropical beaches.
Mahindra said he found that kind of raw beauty compelling and saw the setting as a place for reflection as well as relaxation.
A coastal setting near Visakhapatnam
Gangavaram Beach is about 26 kilometres from Visakhapatnam’s city centre. Vizag tourism describes it as a relatively unexplored beach with a secluded atmosphere.
Mahindra also contrasted the landscape with what he described as the arrival of technology giants in Visakhapatnam to build hyperscale data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure. He said nature had been working on its own version of hyperscaling there for millions of years.
