OVS India expansion plans call for 11 stores by the end of 2028, after the Italian fashion retailer opened its third Indian store in Mumbai on October 23, 2026. The company re-entered India in 2025 and plans to add four stores by the end of 2027.

OVS India Managing Director Sundeep Chugh said the first phase will focus on metropolitan and tier-1 markets, while also considering some tier-2 cities. The roadmap includes Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.

The company is focusing on larger-format stores intended to showcase its range of womenswear, menswear and kidswear. Its new Mumbai location is its largest in India.

Online launch and longer-term ambition

OVS plans to launch its own Indian brand website in 2027. After establishing its initial stores and learning from them, it aims to reach 25 to 40 stores over the next five to seven years, Chugh said.

OVS operates more than 2,600 stores across Italy and international markets. Its existing sourcing base in India contributes 15% of global production, Chugh said.
