The Nanded loan case has led police to register murder and kidnapping allegations against a private finance company owner and two others after a farmer was found hanging in the firm’s office in Maharashtra. The farmer’s family alleges the company sought Rs 70,000 over a Rs 10,000 loan.
Nanded loan case and the family’s allegations
Chandrakant Shinde, 40, was found hanging at the Khalsa Finance office on Chikhaliwadi Road in Nanded on October 24, 2026. He lived in Malkoutha village in Mudkhed tehsil and owned two acres of agricultural land.
His family said he had borrowed Rs 10,000 from the company. Relatives alleged that its representatives took him from the village to the office on October 21 in connection with loan recovery.
Shinde’s mother and daughter alleged that employees confined and fatally assaulted him, then hung his body to make the death appear to be suicide. The allegations have not been established as fact.
Police seek remaining suspects
Superintendent of Police Neelabh Rohan said a case was registered against the company owner and two others following a complaint by Shinde’s relatives. One suspect was in custody and teams had been formed to trace the others.
The family has called for a thorough investigation. Rohan urged farmers facing harassment by private finance companies to approach police and said complaints would receive appropriate action.
