As of October 25, 2026, Alex Eala and Desirae Krawczyk were set to team up in Tokyo Open doubles, with a first-round match against Chan Hao-Ching and Miyu Kato planned for Monday or Tuesday.

Tokyo Open doubles draw

Eala, from the Philippines, and Filipino-American Krawczyk were drawn against the Taiwanese-Japanese pairing of Chan and Kato at the WTA 500 tournament in Japan. The match had not been assigned a confirmed day as of October 25.

Krawczyk, 32, was ranked No. 32 in doubles and had won 13 doubles titles.

A family connection

Krawczyk said on The Players Box podcast in March that her Filipino mother, Maria, was an Eala fan. She recalled that her mother had planned to watch Eala play Coco Gauff in Dubai in February, nearly forgetting that Krawczyk was also playing that day.

Eala lost that quarterfinal to Gauff 0-6, 2-6. Krawczyk and Lyudmyla Kichenok also lost their doubles quarterfinal on February 19, falling 1-6, 6-4, 6-10 to Aleksandra Krunić and Anna Danilina.
