Slide earnings rose in the third quarter of 2026 as the insurer reported higher premiums and revenue, raised its full-year profit outlook and declared a $1.50-per-share special dividend.
Key Takeaways
- Third-quarter net income rose 24.5% to $138.2 million from a year earlier.
- Slide raised its 2026 net income forecast to $500 million–$520 million.
- The special dividend and a regular $0.07 dividend are payable November 30.
Slide earnings and premiums climb
Slide Insurance Holdings reported on October 27 that gross premiums written increased 9.3% to $506.6 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2026, from $463.4 million a year earlier. Revenue rose 35.9% to $361.1 million, while diluted earnings per share increased to $1.09 from $0.79.
The company attributed premium growth to voluntary new business, renewals of previously acquired Citizens policies and contributions from launches in new states. It began writing residential business in Texas in October.
Catastrophe losses lift combined ratio
Slide’s combined ratio rose to 59.3% from 48.5% a year earlier, primarily because of higher catastrophe losses, partly offset by improved operating leverage. A combined ratio below 100% indicates an underwriting profit.
Net losses and loss adjustment expenses included $34.2 million in catastrophe losses from Florida convective storms and $18.0 million of favorable prior-period reserve development.
Higher outlook, dividends and credit facility
For full-year 2026, Slide now expects net income of $500 million to $520 million, up from its previous forecast of $455 million to $470 million. It also raised the lower end of its gross written premiums outlook, setting a range of $1.90 billion to $1.95 billion, compared with $1.85 billion to $1.95 billion previously.
The updated outlook includes up to $50 million in pre-tax losses related to Hurricane Isaias in the fourth quarter. These figures are forecasts, not completed results.
The $1.50 special dividend and $0.07 regular quarterly dividend are payable November 30 to shareholders of record on November 23. Slide made no share repurchases in the third quarter and had $114.1 million available under its repurchase program.
The insurer also entered a $1.07 billion credit facility, replacing a $530.4 million agreement. Borrowings may be used for general corporate purposes, including refinancing existing debt and supporting growth initiatives.
