The Gurugram-based microfinance company reported standalone net profit of ₹172 crore, up from ₹52 crore a year earlier. Consolidated pre-operating profit rose 53% to ₹324 crore from ₹212 crore.
Microfinance provisions fell to ₹83 crore from ₹133 crore. Chairman HP Singh said lower credit costs, portfolio growth, a slight decline in expenses and a 65-basis-point drop in the marginal cost of borrowing contributed to the profit increase.
Portfolio growth and asset quality
Consolidated business grew 31% year over year to ₹16,589 crore at the end of the quarter. Standalone microfinance business rose 23% to ₹13,608 crore, while the gross non-performing assets ratio improved to 1.9% from 3.5% a year earlier.
The company said collection efficiency improved across buckets, supporting better portfolio-at-risk ratios. It also set aside ₹50 crore as a management overlay to provide a future buffer.
Satin uses a joint liability group model in its microfinance operations, organizing clients into groups and providing training before extending credit.
