TradeStation options trading has expanded to selected stock and ETF options outside regular US market hours, following Cboe’s launch of new sessions on October 19, 2026.
Key Takeaways
- The pre-market session runs from 7:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. Eastern time, followed by a short post-market session from 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
- Cboe’s initial launch covered options on 24 individual stocks and five ETFs, not the entire options market.
- Extended-hours markets can have thinner liquidity and wider bid-ask spreads.
TradeStation options trading hours and access
TradeStation Securities says clients can use TITAN X, TradeStation HUB and TradeStation Mobile to access the selected Cboe Options Exchange contracts. The new sessions operate Monday through Friday and do not provide round-the-clock trading.
Cboe’s extended-session launch included options on stocks such as Apple and Nvidia and ETFs including SPY and QQQ. The exchange said it will not open an options class if the underlying security has not opened and will generally halt the class if that security halts.
Eligibility and execution limits
The additional hours give clients an opportunity to respond to events such as earnings announcements before the main market opens or news after it closes. An available session does not guarantee an order will be filled or executed at a desired price.
Fewer active participants can mean thinner order books and wider spreads outside regular hours. TradeStation also says extended-hours trading and options are not suitable for every investor.
The announcement does not specify whether contract availability varies by platform, account type or customer approval. Clients can check TradeStation’s current documentation and their options approval before trading.
