KPIT earnings fell in the September 2026 quarter as net profit declined 28% from a year earlier to ₹120.61 crore, despite a 6.5% increase in revenue to ₹1,690.96 crore.

Key Takeaways

  • The profit decline was largely linked to a change in the fair market value of an investment.
  • Revenue from KPIT’s two largest accounts fell about 13% year on year.
  • The company won new engagements worth a total of $213 million during the quarter.

KPIT earnings and revenue performance

The results, announced on October 28, cover the second quarter of KPIT Technologies’ fiscal 2027. Compared with the preceding quarter, profit attributable to company owners rose nearly 3%, while revenue increased 1%.

Revenue growth varied by measurement: rupee revenue rose 6.5% year on year, while dollar revenue declined 2.2%. Revenue increased 0.2% in constant-currency terms. KPIT reported an EBITDA margin of 17.8%, up 60 basis points from the preceding quarter.

Growth outside the largest accounts

In its second-quarter performance overview, KPIT said growth in trucks and off-highway vehicles, the US and India, and connected and aftersales services helped offset the decline at its two largest accounts. The company also reported $213 million in total contract value for new engagements won during the quarter.

President and Joint Managing Director Sachin Tikekar said growth among other existing and new clients had largely offset the reduction in business from the two largest clients. He said KPIT expects the decline in those accounts to bottom out over the next couple of quarters.

KPIT’s headcount rose marginally to 12,347 employees during the quarter.
