Baxter earnings and sales

Income from continuing operations was $0.57 per share, compared with a loss of $0.10 per share in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted earnings were $0.58 per share, down 16% because of a higher effective tax rate year over year.

Worldwide sales rose 5% on both a reported and organic basis to $2.98 billion. Baxter shares were up 2.12% at $26.00 in premarket trading on October 29.

Higher full-year outlook

In its July outlook, Baxter projected 2026 adjusted earnings from continuing operations of $1.95 to $2.15 per share, reported sales growth of 3% to 4% and organic sales growth of 2% to 3%.

Baxter now expects adjusted earnings of $2.05 to $2.15 per share, raising the bottom of the range while leaving the top unchanged. It also raised its forecast for reported sales growth from continuing operations to 4% to 5% and organic sales growth to 3% to 4%. These are forecasts, not full-year results.
