TPG is in talks to buy British data center group Ark from Elliott Investment Management at a valuation of about $5 billion, in a potential TPG Ark acquisition reported on October 28, 2026. The discussions are ongoing, and a deal is not guaranteed.
TPG Ark acquisition discussions
The reported talks were based on information from people familiar with the matter and had not been independently verified. TPG and Ark did not immediately respond to requests for comment outside business hours.
Elliott acquired Ark in 2012. In 2025, it was exploring strategic options for the business, including a possible sale that could fetch more than $4 billion.
Ark’s government joint venture
Ark is a partner in Crown Hosting Data Centres, a joint venture with the UK government. The Crown Hosting framework provides public-sector organizations with access to physical data center space.
The government describes the framework as a way to host applications that cannot move to the cloud in the short term or would be too expensive to switch.
