Jaguar Risk became the new trading name of Algorithmic Insurance Services, Inc. on October 26, 2026, replacing LIRG as the specialty insurance and reinsurance brokerage seeks a name that reflects its reach beyond Latin America. The firm is retaining its existing team.
Why LIRG is adopting the Jaguar Risk name
Chief Executive Mark Groenheide said the change reflects the geographic scope of the business: “Our reach now stretches well beyond Latin America, making it time for a name that reflects our global presence.”
The jaguar was already part of the firm's identity. Groenheide said its mascot had appeared in the logo since he acquired a majority stake in Algorithmic Insurance Services in 2025.
The announcement changes the firm's trading name, rather than introducing a new corporate entity. Its services include reinsurance placement, treaty structuring, capital solutions, captive advisory and insurance programme development for insurers, managing general agents, managing general underwriters and other risk-bearing organisations.
Existing underwriting platform provides context
The rebrand follows a delegated underwriting authority agreement signed in March 2026 with Malaysian reinsurer Mandarin Re. That agreement authorised the platform to underwrite and bind policies and contracts of up to $3 million each, subject to agreed underwriting guidelines.
The agreement covers facultative property risks, property treaty reinsurance and industry loss warranty structures, including traditional property catastrophe exposures and structured, index-based transactions serving reinsurers' risk-transfer and capital-management needs.
The firm's insurance licensing and coverage conditions specify that products and services are offered through licensed entities and are subject to underwriting approval and policy terms, conditions and exclusions. Coverage may not be available in every jurisdiction.
