The Blackstone Bengaluru office has opened as the asset manager’s second location in India, housing a global capability centre intended to support its businesses worldwide.

What the Blackstone Bengaluru office will do

The centre will bring together Blackstone staff and professional-services partners working across corporate functions. It is located in an office park jointly owned by Blackstone Real Estate and Prestige Group.

Susan Yung, a senior managing director on Blackstone Credit & Insurance’s investment operations team, will oversee the centre. She has more than 25 years of financial-services experience and previously lived in Bengaluru while working for Goldman Sachs.

Mumbai remains the investment base

Blackstone’s investment professionals will remain in Mumbai, which serves as its India headquarters. The Bengaluru centre adds operational support rather than replacing that base.

The New York-listed firm established its presence in India about 20 years ago and has since expanded across real estate, private equity, credit and insurance, and infrastructure. Blackstone says it has helped launch five of India’s six listed real estate investment trusts.
