Allegro MicroSystems announced a range of power and cooling products for AI data centers on October 27, 2026, including current sensors now available for higher-voltage systems. The Allegro data center chips are intended to help designers manage power, heat and space as facilities move toward 800V power distribution and 48V cooling.
Key Takeaways
- Wide-body versions of two current sensors are available with 6,000V of galvanic isolation.
- Allegro also introduced a gate driver and an improved motor driver, but did not specify their availability.
Allegro data center chips for higher-voltage systems
The ACS37030 and ACS37002 current sensors are available in wide-body packages designed to provide electrical isolation in high-voltage equipment. Allegro said the sensors can measure current to help protect power supplies, battery backup units and capacitor banks when demand changes suddenly.
The company also announced the AHV85311 isolated gate driver for silicon carbide power systems. Allegro said its design removes the need for a separate isolated power supply and can reduce circuit-board space by up to 50%. That is a potential design benefit, not a reported result from a deployed data center.
Cooling and customer use
An improved version of Allegro’s A89333 motor driver is designed to control 48V server cooling fans without customers having to develop complex motor-control software. It supports compact fans used in 1U, 2U and 4U servers.
Power solution provider Acbel Polytech has integrated Allegro high-speed current sensors into its latest high-density power solutions for AI data centers. The announcement did not identify which sensor models Acbel used.
Market estimate remains a projection
Allegro projects that its serviceable addressable market for AI data centers will reach $1.7 billion by fiscal 2031. The estimate is based on third-party data and the company’s internal estimates; it is not a revenue forecast or a measure of current sales.
Next milestone
Allegro plans to showcase the technologies at electronica 2026 in Munich in November.
