Clinical programs move forward

Following consultations with the US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency, Basilea plans a combined phase 2/3 study of ceftibuten-ledaborbactam for complicated urinary tract infections, without a separate confirmatory phase 3 study. It expects a phase 2 data readout as early as the end of 2028.

For fosmanogepix, Basilea said it completed recruitment into the salvage therapy cohort of its invasive mold infection study. Recruitment continues in the study’s other cohorts and in a separate invasive candidiasis study. The company expects phase 3 readouts in mid-2028 and plans to include both studies in its initial regulatory filings.

Next milestone

Basilea is scheduled to provide a further strategic update at its Capital Markets Day in Zurich on October 28, 2026.
