Ather Energy shares extend gains
The stock reached Rs 1,660 on Tuesday morning, following a previous close of Rs 1,575. It had risen 13% over the preceding week and 11% over the preceding month.
The advance followed the company’s second-quarter results and brokerage target-price increases. The timing alone does not establish what caused the share-price move.
First quarterly profit
For the September quarter of fiscal 2027, Ather reported net profit of Rs 1.26 crore, compared with a net loss of Rs 154 crore a year earlier. Revenue grew nearly 63% to Rs 1,464 crore.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation turned positive at Rs 11.3 crore, compared with a loss of Rs 133 crore a year earlier. The EBITDA margin was 0.77%.
Chief Executive Tarun Mehta described the profit as a milestone but cautioned that the company still had work to do. He said the focus was on revenue and that improving volumes could support operating leverage if capacity work bears fruit.
Nomura raises its target
Nomura maintained its Buy rating and raised its price target to Rs 2,070 a share from Rs 1,926. The target is the brokerage’s assessment, not a guaranteed future price.
