Xylem restructuring plans include the intended divestiture of two businesses and a move to three operating segments beginning January 1, 2027. The water technology company announced the changes on October 27, 2026, alongside its third-quarter financial results.
Xylem restructuring and planned divestitures
Xylem intends to divest Applied Water International and Specialty Flow Control. The company said the actions are intended to help it direct capital toward technologies, capabilities and markets that align most closely with its long-term strategy.
The divestitures are planned, not completed. Xylem did not provide a sale timetable in the announcement.
Three segments to begin in 2027
From January 1, 2027, Xylem plans to organize its business into Treatment and Services, Flow Solutions, and Measurement and Analytics. Rodney Aulick will lead Treatment and Services, Joe Johnston will lead Flow Solutions, and Meredith Emmerich will lead Measurement and Analytics.
Xylem shares traded at $101.50 in premarket trading on October 27, down 6.31%.
