Instagram announced an Instagram video test on October 26, 2026, allowing select US creators to publish videos of up to 90 minutes and link them to shorter Reels. The product, called Features, is aimed at podcasters, comedians and other long-form creators.
How the Instagram video test works
Viewers who find a clip in a Reel will be able to open the full video from it, Instagram vice president of product Tessa Lyons said. The longer videos will also be recommended on the Explore page and elsewhere on the platform.
Instagram has already tested the feature with creators in Brazil and plans to expand the US trial to tens of thousands of creators. The announcement describes a test rather than a general release.
Creators and viewing options
Early participants include podcast host and Skims co-founder Emma Grede, beauty and fashion creator Monet McMichael, interviewer Preston Rakovsky and football content creator Donald De La Haye.
Features will be available on mobile. Instagram also aims to bring the viewing experience to its TV app, which launched with Samsung, Fire TV and Google TV and is expanding to Apple TV in the US.
