Flyte Aviation said on October 26, 2026, that it intends to double its fleet of Cirrus Vision Jets to 10 aircraft in the first quarter of 2027, as the private aviation operator plans to expand into California.
Key Takeaways
- Flyte currently operates five Vision Jets and has plans to increase the fleet to eight before its intended expansion to 10.
- The company plans to begin California service in the first quarter of 2027.
- Cirrus has delivered more than 800 Vision Jets worldwide since the aircraft was first certified in 2016.
Flyte Aviation fleet and service plans
Flyte is building its regional private aviation business around the Vision Jet. It said the planned fleet expansion is expected to increase aircraft availability, revenue and regional coverage, though those outcomes remain uncertain.
The company currently serves the East Coast and offers international service to Canada and the Bahamas. Florida is its strongest market, while California service is planned for the first quarter of 2027. Flyte provides regional travel for one to four passengers.
Vision Jet marks a decade
The fleet announcement accompanied Flyte’s congratulations to Cirrus Aircraft on the Vision Jet’s 10th anniversary. The Federal Aviation Administration first certified the single-engine aircraft in 2016.
Flyte said all its Vision Jets for charter have Garmin’s Safe Return Emergency Autoland, which can automatically land an equipped aircraft in an emergency, and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System, an integrated parachute for the aircraft.
The company cautioned that its expansion plans are subject to risks including aircraft acquisition and financing availability, maintenance, regulatory approvals, staffing and customer demand.
