Tenstreet announced the CarrierProtect launch on October 26, 2026, introducing a product that gives freight brokers more information about carriers’ driver hiring, safety and compliance practices when selecting transportation providers.
Key Takeaways
- The product groups individual carrier metrics into peer quartiles rather than assigning a single safety score.
- Brokers can create time-stamped records of the information considered in carrier selection.
- Owner-operators and small fleets can share their practices through Pulse Fleet, a free tool in the Driver Pulse app.
What the CarrierProtect launch adds
CarrierProtect draws on 20 years of safety and compliance data from thousands of carriers, according to Tenstreet. It is designed to supplement public records that brokers can already check, including operating authority, inspections and crash data.
The product provides information about drivers’ work experience, safety history and qualification records, as well as carrier training schedules and documented responses to unsafe driving. It also shows whether Driver Qualification Files are current and reflect a carrier’s active driver population.
Rather than combining the information into one safety score, CarrierProtect places individual metrics into quartiles so brokers can see how a carrier compares with peers and examine the underlying data.
Access for smaller carriers and legal context
Tenstreet said owner-operators and small fleets can use Pulse Fleet, a free feature in its Driver Pulse mobile app, to manage driver files, equipment, training and other tasks. They can also share safety and compliance practices with brokers through CarrierProtect.
The launch follows the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, LLC, which allows negligent-hiring claims against freight brokers to proceed under state law. Tenstreet presented the decision as part of the increased scrutiny surrounding carrier selection.
