The Israel election is scheduled for October 27, 2026, with final pre-election polls pointing to a potentially fractured parliament and no clear path to a governing majority.
Israel election polls show a close contest
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces a challenge from former military chief Gadi Eisenkot. Eisenkot’s Yashar party led Netanyahu’s Likud in most recent surveys published before the polling blackout.
Neither the incumbent’s coalition nor the opposition has consistently shown a clear route to the 61 seats needed for a majority in the 120-member Knesset. A lead for an individual party in the polls therefore does not establish which side could form a government.
Security concerns frame the vote
The election comes amid tensions following the conflict with Iran and continuing security concerns on Israel’s borders. The vote is the next confirmed step in determining the composition of the Knesset.
