TechWish invoice review software identified more than $1.1 million in potential vendor overbilling and missed contract discounts for an unnamed US electricity and natural gas company, the technology firm said on October 26, 2026.

Key Takeaways

  • The review covered more than $190 million in vendor invoicing across more than 68,000 invoices from 2025.
  • The identified amount is potential overbilling and missed discounts, not confirmed savings or recovered funds.

What the TechWish invoice review found

TechWish said the invoices analyzed represented only a fraction of the utility customer’s total invoice volume for 2025. The findings included $484,000 in regional overbilling, where work was charged at a higher rate for another region, and $87,000 in potential duplicate invoices.

The company said its Invoice Review Console now enables the customer to identify overbilling before payments are released. It did not name the utility or disclose whether any of the identified amounts had been recovered.

How the console checks contracts

The console uses artificial intelligence to extract rates, limits, surcharges and deadlines from vendor contracts, recording the clause and page associated with each term. It then checks invoices against those terms.

TechWish said the contract-term extraction achieved 97% accuracy when validated against human reviewers. The company built the console for the utility using its ATLAS document-processing technology and deployed it on an AWS serverless architecture.
