A semiconductor training centre opened in Vadodara on October 26, 2026, as INOX India and three partners seek to develop technical skills for India’s chip manufacturing industry.

Semiconductor training centre targets gas-system skills

The SemiOrbit Skill Excellence Centre is located at ITM SLS Baroda University’s Paldi campus. It will offer students, engineers and working professionals training in orbital welding, process piping and ultra-high-purity gas distribution.

Those skills are used to install, fabricate and maintain gas distribution systems and other utility infrastructure needed in semiconductor manufacturing. The programme will include workshops, certification courses and hands-on learning.

How the four partners will contribute

INOX India will provide cryogenic and gas infrastructure and train engineers. INOX Air Products will supply ultra-high-purity gases, while Swagelok Bombay will provide technology and expertise in welding and process piping.

ITM SLS Baroda University will lead the academic and training activities. The partners intend the centre to address a shortage of specialised technical talent as India develops its semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
