A new Nasdaq Clearing Default Fund contribution requirement takes effect on November 1, 2026. Participants whose existing collateral does not cover their upcoming requirement must ensure it is met on time.
How to check the Nasdaq Clearing Default Fund requirement
The upcoming requirement appears in the Default Fund Requirement and Evaluation report in the Genium INET Clearing Workstation, under the column “Required Contribution (2026-11-01).”
Nasdaq Clearing said negative interest is capitalized monthly and reduces the collateral balance. If there is a deficit on the default fund account, no adjusted base collateral will apply.
Manual and automated payment deadlines
Manual contributions must be transferred and settled in Nasdaq Clearing’s bank or CSD/ICSD accounts by 09:30 CET on November 2. Transactions must carry the contribution reference, which is the default fund custody account number.
If no manual payment has been received and booked to the custody account by that time, Nasdaq Clearing will issue a direct debit instruction against the account for which it holds power of attorney. Automated transactions will appear in the Cash Optimization report.
For an automated payment, the settlement bank account must hold enough funds to cover the instructed direct debit by 11:00 CET. Nasdaq Clearing also asked participants to review its settlement instructions before posting contributions.
