Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has directed officials to speed up Hennur-Bagalur Road and infrastructure works between the junction and Geddalahalli, with an emphasis on reducing congestion and improving safety.

Hennur-Bagalur Road work to be coordinated

During an inspection on October 26, 2026, Gowda said the project should extend beyond resurfacing to include drainage, wider footpaths and safer pedestrian facilities. He asked departments to coordinate pending work while limiting disruption to residents and commuters.

Officials were told to plan drainage improvements alongside road work to support rainwater flow and prevent waterlogging. Gowda also asked them to assess where footpaths could be widened and repair damaged slabs.

Traffic and land acquisition priorities

The minister called for alternative traffic arrangements during construction and for junctions to be redesigned around traffic volumes and local conditions. He also directed officials to expedite pending land acquisition and handover processes linked to the project.

Gowda said white-topping should be part of a broader plan covering road widening, drainage, footpaths and other civic amenities. He urged departments to avoid repeated excavation and duplication of work.
