Eikon Therapeutics presented updated EIK1001 trial data on October 26, 2026, showing responses among patients with previously untreated stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer who received the investigational drug alongside pembrolizumab and chemotherapy.
Key Takeaways
- The objective response rate was 72.4% in the efficacy-evaluable squamous cohort and 55.6% in the non-squamous cohort.
- Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events occurred in 48.6% of the 72 participants evaluated for safety.
- A separate Phase 2/3 trial is enrolling, with an interim dose-selection analysis expected in the second half of 2027.
EIK1001 trial results by cancer subtype
The open-label TeLuRide-005 study enrolled 72 participants with previously untreated stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Of those, 65 were evaluable for efficacy at the October 1, 2026, data cutoff.
Across the evaluable population, the objective response rate was 63.1% and the disease control rate was 89.2%, with median follow-up of 17.2 months. The study evaluated the combination of EIK1001, pembrolizumab and chemotherapy; the reported results do not isolate the effect of EIK1001.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Squamous cohort | 29 efficacy-evaluable participants; 72.4% objective response rate and 100% disease control rate. |
| Squamous follow-up | Median follow-up of 12.7 months and median response duration of 12.9 months. |
| Non-squamous cohort | 36 efficacy-evaluable participants; 55.6% objective response rate and 80.6% disease control rate. |
| Non-squamous follow-up | Median follow-up of 17.9 months and median response duration of 11.2 months. |
Safety and treatment schedule
At the July 13 safety cutoff, treatment-related adverse events led to discontinuation in 6.9% of participants. The most common events of grade 3 or higher were neutropenia, at 30.6%, and anemia and thrombocytopenia, each at 9.7%. No treatment-related adverse events led to death.
Eikon said the safety profile supported outpatient administration during the ongoing trial. Participants initially received intravenous EIK1001 weekly; after eight cycles, administration was reduced to once every three weeks.
Phase 2/3 study is enrolling
Eikon is also conducting TeLuRide-008, an adaptive Phase 2/3 trial of the same combination in previously untreated patients with stage 4 squamous or non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. The company expects an interim analysis to select a dose for the remainder of the trial in the second half of 2027.
